GCAM
The Gulf Coast Archive and Museum of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender History, Inc. is a 501-c-3 organization that was formed in Houston, Texas, by a group of concerned activists so that our collective histories could be saved - as well as be available for educational uses - through the utilization of a museum or similar venue. Although we have had to close the museum space, our archives are still available by appointment. Appointments can be made for access to the archives through Judy by calling 713-692-8735. Additionally, we do have a few satellite exhibits throughout the city and arrangements can be made for temporary ones for special functions.

You are visitor 51,055 since our formation October 7, 1999.

Our meetings are held the first Monday of every month at the community center, 3400 Montrose #205 at 7:30 p.m. Visitors are welcome.

Gaslight Carol Guess has composed, from glass-edged fragments of her life and her work as a creative artist, the mosaic of a woman who has fought to be her true self. A nonfiction collection wrapped around a novella called "Fat Rosie and Rose," it documents the impact of sexism and homophobia on her professional and personal lives, and uses fictional characters to play out the events.

Night Mare: A Mystery In this book by Franci McMahon, Jane Scott seems luckier than most. Inherited money and her profession as a journalist have placed her in a milieu she deeply loves, the world of championship horses. Yet she has reached a dark crossroads, one all too familiar: another lesbian relationship is coming to its predictable end. And the television images of the headline-making death of her parents continue, all these years later, to haunt her.

Bloodsong Karen Marie Christa Minns writes this vampiric novel set at Weston College, Manilla. The openly lesbian artist on campus finds her heart's desire realized when a stunning dancer, Ginny shows an interest. Their relationship thrives in spite of the dancer homophobic and powerful father, and the disapproval of many of their collegiates. But their relationship reaches a new challenge when a they meet a dark and sinister woman who shows an interest in Ginny. When Ginny starts to undergo a disturbing transformation, it seems unlikely that their love is enough. Perhaps they can gain strength from Manilla's equaally mysterious advisor.

Pelt Daphne Gottleib is actually a novelist for people with really short attention spans. Daphne lives in San Francisco, and was a member of the Mission District Slam Team at the 1998 National Poetry Slam.
