10:15 pm - Megan Baker, What we will be doing is lining up ON THE SIDEWALK on West Gray St., between Shepherd Dr. and Waugh Dr., starting at Shepherd. We will be holding a more or less silent demonstration, focused on DOMA, federal marriage rights, and same-sex marriage (or a lack thereof) in Texas.
We would like people to make signs listing the different legal rights and responsibilities of marriage, none of which are available to same-sex couples here in Texas, following the passing of the constitutional ban on same-sex marriage that passed in 2005.
Also, everyone should wear black so that we stand out and have a uniform appearance.
It is important to emphasize that this is a peaceful protest, and that we MUST stay on the sidewalks!
